A real estate investor and builder all his life, Bill Vaughn has written 32 books on real estate investing and wealth creation, operates five blogs and is deeply involved in community affairs. Bill has been a real estate mentor since 1989 and is known to loan properties to be used as free housing to families in need.

[NOTE: Bill recently moved to Virginia from Maine and in his first year there, though semi-retired, used the methods in "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate" to add another a $104,000 to his net worth and also generated an additional $46,800/year in rental income in these real estate deals - all in just one year, part-time - without knowing the area and having no network there]

The Father of Modern Investing

Bill Vaughn is a noted real estate investor, author and real estate mentor to thousands of people throughout North America. Having personally mentored over 41,000 students since 1989, it would be difficult to find any community in America where Bill has not taught real estate investing to someone. Bill's most significant real estate achievements include developing the art of modern "flipping", originally by perfecting the now-famous Double Escrow. Bill created the first Reverse Mortgage which he dubbed the Golden Years method, which has since been adopted and adapted by HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) and many banks. In 1989 he created the popular and effective real estate investing course, "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate".

Bill has been a pioneer in modern real estate investing, being among the first to develop and use the double escrow in a way that requires no cash or credit. Since then, he has developed a variety of methods of flipping and non-flipping strategies and has become a recognized authority on all legitimate methods of real estate investing. Chances are good that anyone who "flips" real estate today either learned from Bill, or learned from someone Bill instructed.

Before him, Bill's father had been a real estate investor, starting in 1917. So there is over a century of successful real estate investing history in Bill's family.

The Birth of "Flipping"

Bill's father taught him all the "traditional" investing methods. Then Bill met a gentleman named Forrest who took Bill under his wing and taught him about foreclosures, tax sales, and other strategies. Within two years, Bill was flying high on real estate profits. Not one to leave well enough alone, Bill studied business and real estate law. His study of Real Estate law provided him with ideas for new ways to invest in real estate, resulting in the birth of modern "flipping".

Bill then had his personal real estate attorney design special purchase agreements (included in his program). These agreements are a most important factor - they are worded specifically with the investor in mind, and are buyer-oriented. That is why Bill includes his patented agreement-maker software with his program. Bill's contract software is used not only by investors, but also by many Realtors nationwide.

And "flipping", in its modern state, was born. Bill put the entire program together in "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate", both "flip" and "non-flip" methods, complete with the specially designed contracts, making it possible for anyone to make money investing in real estate with relative ease. Bill has since expanded his course materials to include the widest variety of legitimate investing techniques, including foreclosures, tax liens, lease options, contract for deed and much, much more. He has even arranged for all his students to have access to free real estate mentoring by investors who volunteer their services.

The Big Test - Could ANYONE do this?

To prove out the worth of his program, Bill chose Russell, a destitute homeless person in Wilmington, MA and showed him how to make money using his methods. He mentored Russell but provided no financial assistance, to prove that an indigent person with no money, job or credit could actually pocket some cash using Bill's methods and instruction.

Using Bill's method for double escrow, Russell bought and resold a property all on the same day and at the same closing, resulting in a $16,900 cash profit, as shown in these courthouse documents. None of Russell's cash or credit was used or needed because being homeless, he did not have either.

From 1989 to 1993, Bill only offered his program via word-of-mouth. First, among his investor friends and associates, who told their friends, who told their friends...by 1993, Bill was selling so many programs he and his investor group decided to start a Christian non-profit publishing house (IntelliBiz) to deal with production and shipping. Bill and his team of investors update it continuously, and they all volunteer as free mentors.

Besides his popular "Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate", Bill has authored over 30 other popular books, including free eBooks like "Success - By Design", downloaded over 4.3 million times.

Although Bill is now semi-retired he still dabbles in real estate and personally coaches those who are serious about becoming real estate investors.

Bill recently moved from his peaceful, 12 acre farm in Maine, with his devoted wife, Robin, and his youngest daughter, Christi and they settled in Virginia. A woodworker by hobby, most of his spare time is devoted to building wooden toys to give away at Christmas to the less fortunate, as well as treasure hunting, fishing, canoeing, traveling and his passion - building show cars. What hobby would you pursue if you had both the money and the free time, as real estate investors do?
