Build a Hide-Away

You will need one or two magnetic child safety locks, depending on the application. I used one for this project

I use poker chips to glue on the magnet top, to disguise it

Two "hidden" cabinet hinges

Lay out the cutting lines in your wall. Be careful to know where your studs are - there should be a stud at both vertical edges, but not required if the wall is wood and not sheetrock. Use tape on the cut lines to prevent splintering

Carefully make your cuts

Remove any unnecessary studding, and glue in a soft cloth, to prevent marring your items

Though I did not do it in this one, you can install magnets to hold weapons or clips

An appropriate piece of art, poster or whatever as a door to the hide-away. Make a small, unnoticeable mark on the door to indicate where you must place the magnet to open

I have several hide-aways, different sizes for different stuff, throughout, both on and off property. I also turned a lift-top coffee table into ammo storage, and hide-away shelves. One of the hide-aways is behind a full length sliding mirror, and smaller ones are behind things like a wall hung magazine rack.

If you find this worthwhile, don't forget to share this with everyone you know. Can be used to protect other valuables, like jewelry, precious metals etc.
