The Carleton (often misspelled "Carlton") Sheets program is marketed and sold by American Marketing Systems Inc., under the guise of the "Professional Education Institute". This is important because in this case, to be fair, the product should be judged separately from the company that markets it. American Marketing Systems Inc. (Carlton Sheets) gets hundreds of complaints per year. Most get resolved; however, a good company does not let that many dissatisfied customers get as far as a consumer protection agency - a good company would resolve issues willingly. Carlton Sheets' program is rather decent, with some good information. However, it is rather vague (probably intentionally) - so a mentor is required. They usually charge $2000 - $5000 for mentoring. However, in all fairness, some people have done very well with the Sheets' program, as long as they buy into the expensive mentoring. We have not been able to locate any user of the Carlton Sheets program who has been very successful without buying into the expensive mentoring. If you know of someone who has, please let us know (we have been waiting 11 years so far, and no one has come forward). With the exception of "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate"®, the mentors for most other programs, including Carlton Sheets', are not necessarily actual, experienced investors.The mentoring for most of them is "farmed out" to companies that hire scripted telephone operators. If you are dissatisfied with the Carlton Sheets program and wish to return the product, it is difficult getting a refund, and when you do get it, it can take months. This is the basis for many of the complaints and numerous negative web pages about Carlton Sheets - and the reason we separate the product from the company. This is probably why so many complaints make their way to the BBB - the company does not issue a refund unless you really fight for it. If you wish to check Carleton Sheets out with any consumer protection agency, you must look under American Marketing Systems Inc.
